The Release of Autumn

Fall is honestly my favorite time of year and not because of pumpkin spice everything or the cute riding boots and vests, although those are definitely a fun bonus! (Anytime, we get to wear clothes that aren’t for snow, it’s very exciting for us up here in the high country.)

But the reason I love Fall so much is because it feels like a returning to myself, a coming home, a season of truth and embodiment. Part of me wonders if this is because Fall was always the time of year I started to get into the swing of things as a child and student. The school year cycle is still deeply embedded into me despite not having been IN school for a very long time now. There is a familiar rhythm I feel in Fall that is incredibly grounding and supportive. Fall is the time of year that I can truly feel an unburdening. A lightening. A releasing. A putting down.

What is asking to be released in your life?

  • Perfectionism?

  • People Pleasing?

  • Worrying?

  • Over-scheduling?

  • Overriding your body’s needs in order to perform/produce?

  • Rejection of parts of yourself that feel harder to accept and love?

Here is what I’m letting go of right now:

  • Pressure to achieve/perform/produce

  • Feeling like I am “not enough” (whatever TF that even means)

  • Clothes and things I don’t need/like/wear

  • Worrying about HOW things will come together

  • The need to know what’s next

And in an effort to support you this Autumn season, here are a few journal prompts for you to explore what is asking to be released in your life. So grab your journal and a pen, a hot cup of tea or coffee…

  1. What is weighing you down right now? What feels heavy to continue holding on to?

  2. If I release _________________, it would allow me to feel more ___________________.

  3. Something that I have been holding on to that is not actually mine to carry is ____________________.

  4. I choose to put my energy into what serves me. This includes _______________________.

  5. One belief I have been clinging to that is holding me back is _________________________.

May these writing prompts be of service to you as you lighten your load.

Happy October, friends.

In this work with you,

Sondra
