Remembering who you are

December 31st, 2022:

Wow. Here we are. It feels like the last few months have just flown by and yet I have somehow felt deeply present for all of it.

Here is a quick recap of my last quarter of 2022:

  • A trip to the Grand Tetons in October for our 15th Anniversary - where we ran into a Mama Moose and her 2 babies on a trail in Jackson, WY. It was one of the most magical awe-inspiring moments of my life.

  • A trip to TX for Thanksgiving, where we stayed in my in-laws beautiful new home that they built, every single detail selected and designed by them. Got to soak up lots of family time and enjoyed a few particularly memorable moments with my niece, Abby.

  • Had surgery on my foot - always humbling to be on crutches

  • Taught my first Self-Care Masterclass that was open to the public, “Turn Down the Noise”

  • Completed CULTIVATE, a 8-week Trauma Informed Space Holding Training for Professionals, led by Katie Kurtz, LCSW

  • Celebrated my 40th Birthday

  • Worked a long Christmas Day shift at the hospital and then proceeded to get sick a few days later & am now much better!

And yet, this list doesn’t capture the FEELING and SPIRIT of the last quarter at all. Which is why I created some journal prompts to support us during this time of transition between changing holidays and years coming and going. These prompts were shared on my Instagram over the last few days, but in case you missed it, here is a recap:

These writing prompts are meant to be explored in sequence, but feel free to use them or ponder them in any way that feel supportive for you. And if you want to check out my answers to these prompts, then CLICK HERE.

My final reflections that I wanted to share with you is something I wrote last night before bed that just poured out of me, almost as if these were not my own words at all but rather the words from the Divine or Spirit moving through me and out of my hand. If you have read Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic, then you know what I am talking about.

When we forget who we really are,

(pure consciousness & loving awareness)

we create a lot of unnecessary inner turmoil.

You are not your thoughts

you are not your emotions

you are not your job or profession

you are not your roles

you are the observer of it all.

reconnecting to the truth of our nature helps us release the tight grasp of our limiting personas and narrowly defined roles.

Remember who you are

Remember who are you

who are you?

Cheers to re-membering who we are in 2023 and beyond.

I am here in this work with you & rooting for you always.

Happy New Year!
